How to Use the Word Counter
The SnappedKit.com Word Counter instantly analyzes your text, providing detailed statistics — from basic word and character counts to readability scores and social media character limits.
Getting Started
Paste or type any text into the input area. All stats update in real time as you type — no buttons to click.
Core Counts
The tool counts words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, paragraphs, and lines. Sentence detection handles common abbreviations like Mr., Dr., and U.S.
Reading & Speaking Time
Reading time is calculated at 228 words per minute (average adult reading speed). Speaking time uses 130 WPM, useful for estimating presentation or speech duration.
Readability Scores
Two standard readability metrics are calculated:
- Flesch Reading Ease — scores 0 to 100. Higher scores mean easier reading (60–70 is ideal for general audiences).
- Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level — corresponds to a US school grade level. A score of 8.0 means an eighth-grader can easily understand the text.
Additional averages include words per sentence, word length, syllables per word, and unique word count.
Social Media Character Limits
Progress bars show how much of your text fills the character limits for Twitter/X (280), meta descriptions (160), title tags (60), Instagram (2,200), and LinkedIn (3,000). Bars turn red when the limit is exceeded.
Keyword Analysis
The top 10 most frequent keywords are shown with their count and density percentage. Common stop words (the, and, is, etc.) are excluded to surface meaningful content keywords.
